A Great Day for Pride in the Park

A Great Day for Pride in the Park

by Brooke Lueken

The 3rd annual Dubois County Pride in the Park event was on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Jaycee Park in Jasper, Indiana. Almost 2,000 people gathered in the park to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and show their pride. Welcoming people from all over, the festival creates a more inclusive community for everyone who visits or calls Dubois County home.

Organized by Dubois County Pride and One Dubois County, the festival celebrated pride with live music, food trucks, a pool party, an Aerial Circus, dancing, activities, and more! Attendees at the festival were invited to stop by the OFS booth, create colorful artwork to celebrate the spirit of pride, and cool down with freeze pops on a hot summer day.

It is a joy to find beauty in each other’s individuality—and we loved highlighting that in our booth through the use of Todd Norman’s illustrations. His assortment of artistic faces combined with the creativity of our community, kids and adults alike, brought people together to celebrate pride.
