OFS to suspend production in Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, and California

OFS to suspend production in Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, and California

by Aaron Estabrook

HUNTINGBURG, March 24, 2020: Yesterday, Indiana Governor, Eric Holcomb, issued a statewide “Shelter in Place” order for all non-essential businesses to close for two weeks. These orders were given to our state, and others around the country, in an effort to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID19).

OFS’ primary concern remains, as it has always been, the health and well-being of our employees and their families. Our promise is always to put people first. As such, with extreme consideration from all perspectives, OFS has decided to pause operations for the ultimate safety of our employees and the communities we call home. During this time, OFS will also provide a comprehensive compensation bridge plan for manufacturing employees.

Because OFS is one of the largest healthcare manufacturers in the country, we have been labeled an “essential business” and asked to remain semi-operational in various locations to fulfill orders to help the healthcare industry during this time. Thereby, in order to help expedite these orders, OFS will utilize a rolling schedule to pause operations:

  • Indiana: 3/29 - 4/12
  • North Carolina: 4/9 - 4/23
  • Kentucky: 3/29 - 4/12
  • California: 3/29 - 4/12

OFS administrative and support functions such as Logistics, Sales, Marketing, IT, HR, Accounting, and Finance, will remain fully operational. These administrative and support teams have been working from home for the past week and will continue to do so to maintain continuity of business and customer communications, as well as maintain basic internal administrative activities.

OFS has always been a steward to the community, but it’s never been under these circumstances where doing what feels right is part of the difficult decision. We understand this announcement might create a number of questions, so we encourage you to reach out to the contacts below for further information.

Our executive leadership will continue to monitor this situation closely and continue to follow guidelines and recommendations set by the CDC, as well as local and state agencies.
